Buffing is a mechanical surface-finishing process used to refine the appearance and surface condition of metal components. At Dipak Sales, buffing is part of our listed finishing expertise and can be applied to customer-specific components after machining, forming or other manufacturing operations.

The required finish depends on the component material, existing surface condition and customer specification. Our documented material expertise includes ETP copper, aluminium, phosphor bronze, lead-free brass alloys, low-lead brass alloys and copper alloys.

Metal Buffing for Refined Component Surfaces

Buffing uses controlled mechanical contact with suitable polishing media to refine a metal surface. It is generally selected when the finished component needs a cleaner, smoother or more visually refined appearance after earlier manufacturing operations.

Buffing can follow machining, grinding, vibratory finishing or other preparation stages and may be followed by plating, anodizing, lacquer finish, powder coating or another specified surface treatment.
